Shhh… don’t tell Miles Brodie or Johnny Decker, but Damien Barber may have just edged them out of their top BBF spot for Kayley Loring & Connor Crais MMCs. And Vera Kruger is definitely one of those characters I want to bring to life and hang out with forever. I cannot wait to dive back in to this story with the audiobook. I have a feeling it’s going to be a very easy favorite and often repeated listen for me.

  • The chapter titles. Absolutely epic!

  • So much amazing banter.

  • The snark.

  • Vera’s external internal monologues.

  • Self-discovery and recognition of worthiness. Yep, this book may be a RomCom, but as usual, it’s pretty freaking deep, too.

  • The chemistry between Vera & Damien is incredible.

  • Chapter 17

  • Pie!

  • Meddling family & friends.

  • Spit-take worthy humor.

  • Dammit! Tissues!

  • I laughed, I cried, oh, hey! There's a cat!

  • Classic blunders. Absolutely loved all of these. And the homage to one of my favorite movies.
